Happy Thanksgiving-from my Family to yours!
Dear Friends,
In 1863 when this nation was engaged in Civil War and Americans were divided, our 16th President urged all Americans to join together in being thankful for the blessings in their lives. Even in midst of armed conflict, President Abraham Lincoln recognized the values that unite us are greater than those that divide us. It was Lincoln’s optimism in the American spirit that led to the holiday we celebrate this week.
While nothing compared to Lincoln’s America, today we also face many challenges. The economy inherited from the past administration has improved but continues to lag; the current health care system leaves millions of Americans uninsured and many more underinsured; and the job market continues to leave many of our fellow citizens worried about how they will get by in the coming months. Times are tough, but Americans are a resilient people. Together we can make a positive difference.
On this Thanksgiving, I am thankful for the tremendous support I have received from the voters of Florida’s 2nd Congressional District. Together we can turn around this economy, fix the broken health care systems, and improve the job market so every American that wants to work can find a job. Now is not a time for complaints; it is a time for solutions. I am thankful to have found so many in North Florida who are also committed to resolving our nation’s challenges. And I am thankful that you have chosen to join our team.
Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!
